5 Tips To Support Work Life Balance

mindfulness Mar 23, 2022

Let’s talk about my current FAVORITE topic; work-life balance.

This truly is an ongoing process of learning systems and structures that support you in remaining accountable for everything you need to do for your responsibilities, and your wellbeing. Personally, I find it important to know a little bit more about your feminine and masculine energies, so you can learn how to really rest and receive nourishment, and give to order and responsibilities. That however, is a conversation for another day!

FOR NOW, LET’S GET INTO MY 5 TIPS TO SUPPORT WORK / LIFE BALANCE.

  1. DRINK CEREMONIAL GRADE MATCHA

    • I have tried several Matcha’s from different brands, and I’m telling you, there’s something different about Pique Matcha. I was introduced to Pique by Community by Fuel Up Fresh in Fenton, and noticed how FOCUSED and clear I was from drinking it (not to mention, I do NOT get anxiety or jitters from it, even though it is caffeinated). They triple test for mold and toxins, and grow their matcha distanced from human population, so it can be a very pure green tea. I personally love this brand so much, that I PARTNERED with them to get you a discount code, to try it out yourself! If you’re a Matcha lover, this is such a pure, clean choice! Use code HOLISTIC5 to get 5% off your Matcha

      • Matcha can help you focus on what needs to get done. When you’re working you are devoting your awareness to work. When you are showing up for life’s obligations, you can apply that same focus. Matcha gives you calm energy, and supports you in either work, or life <3.

  2. COMMIT TO A SCHEDULE

    • Obviously you have a work schedule you follow (if you’re working, that is), but life requires one as well. It’s easy to just show up day to day and do what you feel like doing, but having organization and structure to knowing what needs your tender love-and-care in your personal life, can help you really commit to it. Plus, if you schedule in your calendar what you need to get done, like cleaning, grocery shopping, meal prep, errands, etc., you’re more likely to get it done. When you create boundaries of time for you to commit to what needs to be done, you’re strengthening your healthy masculine energy. Your masculine energy embodies order, structure, accountability, discipline, and systems. The more you create the infrastructure of your schedule, the greater you’ll show up in your life.

  3. KNOW YOUR CYCLE, KNOW YOUR ENERGY

    • Okay. You all know by now I’m a big fan of understanding your infradian rhythm, right? Your hormonal cycle that dictates the kind of energy you have all month? (if you’re a cyclical woman, which most of you are). When you know your cycle, you know your energy. You know when estrogen rises, you have energy to get shit done. You know when progesterone rises, it’s time to hibernate, fill up your tank, and recharge for next months energy-giving-time. Know your cycle, know your energy.

      • If you’re thinking, Sarah, how the heck do I know my energy based off my cycleÂť, you can watch my Hormone Health Masterclass, or check out my Hormone Health Ebook, you will then get it ;)

  4. PRIORITIZE RECHARGING

    • Here’s where I KNOW you are not committing your fullest self to. I know, because almost EVERY woman I talk to, struggles slowing down and recharging. Partly because we don’t realize how productive it is, AND we live in a society that pushes business as a means of being worthy for acceptance, AND we don’t understand our cycle enough to understand we are fighting against ourselves when we don’t slow down at the appropriate time.

      • You really do need to slow down during the second half of your cycle sis, if not, you are doing your health and wellness a disservice, and are negatively tainting your experience of life.

      • RESTING is RECHARGING. If you are always GOING, you run out!! Why? Because your energy tank has not been properly refilled. PLUS, you’re forgetting that it actually feels REALLY GOOD to fill your energy back up! I recommend a yin class to support you in the process. Check this one out.

  5. GET CLEAR ON NON-NEGOTIABLES

    • Get out a piece of paper. Write out everything you need to do that is NOT something you are going to continue to negotiate yourself out of. Some non-negotiables might be: go to work, make myself a hot latte in the morning, meditate for 10 minutes, go to a therapist, meal prep twice a week, etc. Get clear on what you know you need to do to keep up with your life, so you don’t fall behind. Then, everything else you’d like to do for your wellbeing and fun, comes after the non-negotiable are done. That way, you don’t drown in uncomfortable emotions trying to get you to do what you know you need to do that you’re not doing. To create more balance between work and life, you need to understand what those non-negotiable are, so you can show up for what improves your quality of life. Once all those are accomplished, you can switch your brain to relaxation and fun time, because you’ve earned it.

I hope that these 5 tips bring you some clarity on how you can incorporate more balance between work and life.
If you have additional suggestions let me know down in the comments and let’s spark up a conversation about it.

until next time, friend!
