3 Reasons You Might Be Feeling Stuck

There are several reasons you may be feeling stuck in life. Maybe your nervous system is dysregulated, maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed by life, maybe you’re listening to limiting beliefs about yourself, maybe you’re afraid of change, etc. There are several reasons you may be feeling like you’re not making much progress in your evolution.

Let’s talk about 3 reasons you may be feeling stuck.

1. YOU’RE WAITING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO CHANGE, SHIFT, OR DO SOMETHING FOR YOU SO YOU CAN FINALLY SHIFT YOURSELF.⁠

~ Sometimes we’re waiting for someone outside of us to be different so we can finally feel the way we desire to feel, or can show up how we desire to show up. I’m asking you not to give your power away like that. I desire for you to focus upon being the one that goes first. Being clear about what you desire and then doing it, regardless of what someone else is or isn’t doing. That kind of devotion to showing up for self, is powerful, and can help you keep moving forward in life.

2. YOU’RE NOT SETTING IN PLACE SYSTEMS AND STRUCTURES TO HELP YOU MOVE TOWARDS YOUR GOALS. YOU’RE RELYING ON THE GOAL ITSELF TO BE WHAT MOTIVATES YOU, BUT WHEN THE ENERGY OF MOTIVATION FALLS ASIDE, YOU GIVE UP BECAUSE THERE’S NO SYSTEM IN PLACE TO KEEP YOU GOING.⁠

~ If you haven’t read the book Atomic Habits by James Clear, I recommend it. A quote from his book is:

You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
— JAMES CLEAR

I agree with this. His book gives you practical tools to put in place to really help you make progress in life. For example, he uses the system of creating new habits by “make it obvious, make it attractive, make it easy, make it satisfying”. A way to break a bad habit is “make it invisible, make it unattractive, make it difficult, make it unsatisfying”. Play around with those, and see how they work.

3. YOU MAKE EXCUSES, AND YOU DON’T REALLY WANT TO SHOW UP AND DO THE WORK IT'S GOING TO TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU WANT TO GO.⁠

~ Your brain is a beautiful organ that desires that path of least resistance. It doesn’t desire to use more energy than it has to, as it’s already running so many systems to keep you alive. It makes sense you don’t want to stop being lazy and show up for your to-do’s. You get to decide to show up and do what you need to do BECAUSE you know you need to do them, instead of making excuses and falling behind in life. Sure, temporarily it’s nice to make excuses, but all your doing is compiling uncomfortable emotions on top of your psyche, as they are going to come forth because you’re not showing up in your life in the way it needs you to. So stop making excuses, and do what needs to be done!

I speak to a lot of individuals who claim they want growth, who claim they want what they desire, who claim they are ready for it, but REALLY are not. ⁠

They don’t ACTUALLY want to show up DAY after DAY and GRIND away at their goals. They desire the easy way out, the path of least effort.⁠

Let me tell you something. If you are choosing that path, that’s fine, but don’t deny yourself your own truth. Be real with yourself and admit you aren’t wanting to put in that much work. You at least will not be fooling your own Self.
